Incident Report

Agent/Witness: Rayce Adkins

Base: Branson, Missouri

Date/Time: 6/4/09, 9:10 p.m.

Incident: I was taking a vacation with my cousin. It was a warm summer night and we decided to go outside and play tag. It was dark, but bright enough to see. We played around 20 minutes all together. I came to notice that the forest outside was too quiet: no bugs, no sound—just silence.

I tagged my cousin one last time and ran into the forest as fast as I could. To avoid getting tagged. I ran and slid down a hill. There was a tree root there that cut into to the earth. It was big enough to hide under. I sat there for a good five minutes, until I heard the door to the cabin slam off in the distance. I thought my cousin had finally given up looking for me.

Then I heard footsteps in the leaves above me. They were heavy, and had an odd rhythm. The forest was quiet enough that I could hear my own heartbeat. Then a vile smell hit my nose with an odor of rotten meat. I didn't look up; I was too afraid.

The footsteps got closer and closer and the smell that hit me was awful; I had to restrain myself from gagging. The footsteps finally stopped, near where I was hiding out. I heard a deep moan, and I stayed where I was. I made no noise: I didn't even breathe. The footsteps then started up again and moved farther away, past my hiding spot.

I was so scared, but I had to see what it was. I just barely peeked my head over the root and what I saw I can't accurately explain, but it will stay in my mind forever. It was a figure of about maybe 6'4" dragging its disfigured body through the leaves.

As soon as it was far enough away. I got up and sprinted back to the cabin. I locked all the doors. closed the windows and turned off all the lights. Then I took a large knife and hid under my bed, hoping it wouldn't come near the cabin.

I don't know what I saw. All I know is that it wasn't entirely human.

Comment from Dr. Pecos: Well...what happened to your cousin?!

What you saw could have been a zombie. The smell of rotten meat is often associated with them. But I need more information. When you file a report, try to be as descriptive as possible. For instance, what do you mean by "disfigured body?" Was it missing any limbs? Did it seem paralyzed on one side? Was it human in form? The devil really is in the details, Rayce.
