Long story short, this game is downright awesome.

The gameplay itself is very solid with only a few minor issues (secondary missions mainly), and stays good despite combining different genres. At times it's a typical action game where you simply beat the crap out of things, at other times it's a real time strategy game, and other times it's racing. While I wouldn't say it's the best game in each genre it does, it's at the very least up near the top for a lot of them.

The world of Brutal Legend has a way of drawing you in. Things like metal spiders than spin thread used for guitar strings, or an entire cliffside made of giant amps. And it's all so well done that as unreal as it is, it still feels reasonably real.

But where the game really shines is the audio, as expected from a heavy metal game. Naturally, the soundtrack is top notch. And the voice acting is very well done. Considering that it stars Jack Black, and features Lemmy and Ozzy it's not as if you can really go wrong.

What surprised me is that although the game does great on humor, it also has a good story to it. It's surprisingly interesting and gives a bit more reason to keep playing.
