Agent/Witness: A

Base: Theodore, Alabama

Date/Time: April 22, 2004

Incident: We received a call from a contact yesterday (4/21/04) reporting a strange sighting off of a main road. The incident took place in front of an abandoned chemical storage facility. The contact reported that while driving down the road during twilight hours, she saw a group of people standing on the other side of the fence on the facility grounds. Thinking they were adolescents doing drugs or other such illegal activities, she pulled her vehicle off to the side of the road and aimed a flashlight at them in an attempt to frighten them away. (When asked why she did this, she stated that she was just "trying to have a little fun with them.") Rather than run away, the group moved with a staggering gait, "like their legs were cramped," towards the fence. She was immediately aware that these were zombies. She counted seven of them from behind the safety of the fence, and offered the following description:

"Most of them looked pretty new; that's probably why it took me so long to figure out what they were. One of them, though, looked so bad rotten that I almost puked."

We thanked her for her call and urged her against investigating the matter further, for her safety. We have yet to investigate the facility, but plans are being made to go tonight. Due to the hazardous nature of the area, we will be forced to leave the dogs behind. This regrettable sacrifice makes tonight's investigation extremely dangerous.
